This is a great sounding 1923 Loar-era Gibson A model that’s been well preserved and is ready to go. It recently had the original fretboard radiused and new nickel frets installed, including a new Cumberland Acoustic bridge and a black bone nut. The original tailpiece and snakehead tuners are in good shape and the original bridge and pickguard along with the original case (worn but serviceable) are included. Please note that the pickguard clamp has a broken metal tab that holds the bracket against the back - you may be able to find a spare replacement on the market if you choose to re-install the guard. The back tortoise binding has cracked in numerous places (Please refer to photos) which is a common issue for this material at 103 years of age. Where possible, it has been re-glued to the rim.
Serial number - 73159
This is a great example of a Gibson A from the pinnacle period of Gibson mandolins.
